Migrating tokens from your Cosmos (bech32) Althea wallet to your Althea EVM wallet

Creating a new Althea Wallet

If you are starting fresh, there are two steps necessary before you begin. Firstly, installing a wallet manager (MetaMask) and secondly creating your new Althea wallet.

Installing MetaMask Wallet

Althea L1 is an EVM compatible blockchain and MetaMask is the recommended wallet. If you have not already, you will first need to install MetaMask.

To do so, first visit the official MetaMask website and select the appropriate version for your browser or mobile device.

Adding Althea L1 to MetaMask

Once you have installed MetaMask, visit https://althea.link

From there, click the “connect wallet” button to add the Althea L1 EVM network to Metamask.

You should see you are now connected, by observing that the “connect wallet” button now shows a preview of your wallet address and the balance of Althea in your wallet.

At this point, click once again on the balance display (formerly the “connect wallet button”) to pull up the “copy address / copy althea1 / disconnect” window.

Click on “copy althea1” and paste this address in a note for future reference.

The althea1 address you have copied is the bech32 address associated with your Althea EVM wallet. If you send tokens to this address from Keplr or Leap, they will also be visible/accessible via Metamask.

####

Transfer tokens from Keplr or Leap

From Keplr or Leap, initiate a send of your Althea tokens to the Althea1 address you copied from https://althea.link in the previous step.

Congratulations! You have migrated your tokens to your Althea L1 EVM wallet. You should see the balance appear in Metamask momentarily.
